ABA Services
Expert ABA therapy delivered in the comfort of your own home — where learning happens most naturally.
Overview
In-home ABA therapy brings a trained Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) directly to your family's home, working under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Rather than asking your child to learn in an unfamiliar clinic, we meet your child where they feel most secure and comfortable.
Skills are taught in the natural environment — the rooms, routines, and relationships where your child actually lives, plays, and interacts. This means skills are more meaningful, more durable, and more likely to generalize across daily life. Your BCBA designs an individualized treatment plan based on your child's unique strengths, challenges, and family priorities. That plan is reviewed and updated regularly based on data collected during every session.
Archways ABA's in-home services are available to families across Missouri — from the suburbs of Kansas City and St. Louis to rural communities in the Ozarks and Bootheel. We eliminate travel barriers so your child can access quality care.
The Advantage
Children with autism learn best when instruction is embedded in their real, everyday world.
Children learn skills where they will actually use them — at the kitchen table, in the backyard, during bath time. This dramatically improves skill generalization and long-term retention.
Parents observe sessions firsthand and learn the same strategies their child's therapist uses. This empowers families to extend therapy's impact around the clock — not just during scheduled hours.
Many children with autism struggle with transitions and car rides. Eliminating the commute to a clinic removes a significant source of stress for the whole family and maximizes therapy time.
What to Expect
Your child's RBT arrives at your home for a 2–3 hour session. They work directly with your child on individualized goals established by your supervising BCBA. Sessions are engaging and structured — combining play, naturalistic teaching, and direct instruction depending on your child's learning profile.
Goals may include communication and language skills, daily living and self-care, play and social interaction, behavior management and emotional regulation, and academic readiness skills. Data is collected systematically throughout every session.
Your supervising BCBA reviews this data weekly, conducts regular supervision visits, and updates your child's program to ensure continuous progress. Parents receive regular updates and are encouraged to ask questions at any time.
RBT arrives and engages your child with preferred activities to build rapport and readiness.
Targeted teaching on BCBA-prescribed goals with data collected on every trial.
Skills embedded into natural routines — mealtime, play, hygiene, family interaction.
RBT shares what was worked on and answers any questions before leaving.
Is This Right for Us?
In-home ABA is an excellent fit for many families. Here are the groups who tend to benefit most:
We travel to families across all of Missouri — from the suburbs of Kansas City and St. Louis to the most rural communities in the Ozarks, Bootheel, and beyond.
Geography should never be a barrier to quality care. For families in very rural areas, we also offer telehealth support alongside in-home services.

The number of recommended hours depends on your child's individual needs, age, goals, and the severity of their challenges. Many children receiving intensive early intervention benefit from 20–40 hours per week, while children in maintenance phases may receive 10–15 hours. Your child's BCBA will conduct an initial assessment and recommend an appropriate service level. Insurance often covers the hours deemed medically necessary.
Yes, a parent or legal guardian must be present in the home during all therapy sessions. This is a standard safety and ethical requirement in in-home ABA services. Beyond being a requirement, we strongly encourage parents to observe sessions when possible — it dramatically increases the impact of therapy and gives you strategies to use throughout the day.
Very little is required on your end. Your RBT will bring therapy materials, data sheets, and any specialized tools needed. You will want to have a reasonably distraction-free space available for structured work, but sessions also take place throughout the home in natural settings. Your BCBA may occasionally ask that you have specific items (preferred snacks for reinforcement, certain toys, etc.) — they will communicate these needs in advance.
